The Walnut Tree
The Walnut Tree Restaurant sits on the B4521, two miles East of Abergavenny, and has been a famous inn and restaurant since it began in the early 1960s. It is now run as a joint venture between Shaun Hill and William Griffiths. Wigmores of Monmouth
Using the same traditional fermentation cycle for the past 100 years, Wigmores endeavours to keep the art of baking and the unique bread it produces very much alive.
One of the last traditional bakers left in Wales, the shop carries all the usual favourites such as Bara Brith and Welsh cakes, with the addition of new contemporary products such as sour dough and rye breads.
Wernddu Wine & Vineyards
At Wernddu the whole wine-producing process, from growing, to fermenting and bottling is carried out by the Strawford’s at their vineyard.
In April 1999 the Strawford family moved to Wernddu Farm near Monmouth. Planting began in 2002 with 200 Reichensteiner white grape variety, which have successfully been harvested in 2005 and are now available. Two thousand vines in total have been planted to date, which include Red and White varieties.

Parva Farm Vineyard
This award-winning vineyard is on a sunny slope, overlooking Tintern and the beautiful River Wye. It is believed to be the site used by the monks of Tintern Abbey to cultivate vines hundreds of years ago.
Parva Farm and Vineyard was purchased in a derelict state by Colin and Judith Dudley in 1996.
Four years of hard work by Colin and Judith saw most of the vineyard returned to full production.
More vines were planted in 2002 so that there is now a total of 4500 vines with 5 main varieties- 3 white and 2 red.
