The Bell at Skenfrith, a fully restored former 17th century coaching inn on the banks of the River Monnow, has eleven individually decorated bedrooms and is one of Wales' finest Restaurant with Rooms. Whether you are looking for a peaceful few days in the country away from it all, a romantic escape or walks in some wild, totally unspoiled quiet Welsh countryside, then this is the place for you.
The restaurant, which uses produce from our own organic kitchen garden, has been awarded two AA rosettes.
The Bell was voted Michelin Pub of the Year for Great Britain and Ireland in 2007.
Our menus change every six weeks or so and offer locally sourced seasonal food, much from our organic kitchen garden. Prices range from around £22 a head for a three-course lunch and around £32 per head for a three-course dinner. On Sundays, we have a set lunch menu (priced at £20 for two-courses and £24 for three-courses) and serve à la carte in the evening.
Special dietary requirements can normally always be met (please let us know of these in advance) and we offer a special menu for children with meals from the organic food specialist 'miniscoff'. Children are most welcome (although we regret that under 8s are not allowed in the restaurant in the evenings) but we can offer supper for them from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
In good weather, guests can eat outside on the garden terrace. Private parties are most welcome by prior arrangement and we recommend booking for all occasions to avoid disappointment.
