On Thursday 30th January at 7.30pm, LipService will be treating Blackwood Miners Institute audiences with their own self-assembly Swedish crime thriller, Inspector Norse, which has been playing to packed houses throughout the UK.
Multi-award winning duo, Maggie Fox and Sue Ryding, play an array of characters, moving effortlessly well, almost from jumper to jump suit in their inimitable style.
Inspector Norse is a finger-on-the-pulse celebration of our current love affair with all things Scandinavian, from The Killing and Stieg Larsson to shopping at IKEA, dancing to ABBA and of course fabulous knitwear.
In fact LipService have been so captivated by Sarah Lundts love of knitting that even their set has been partially knitted. Over the last few months, over a thousand knitters up and down the land have gathered to create perhaps the most unusual set ever.
Needles have been clicking non-stop to create a knitted autopsy with yards of beautifully crocheted intestines, a knitted house, northern lights and knitted Walpurgis knight firework display.
This gripping Nordic Noir, which takes us from Stockholm to the Arctic Circle, also features a 1970s Swedish glam rock band, The Northern Lights, several trolls and a drunken moose and culminates in a startling climax that will leave you in stitches.
Inspector Norse will be performed at Blackwood Miners Institute on Thursday 30 January at 7.30pm.
