Brecon County Show

Brecon County Show is set within the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. With views of the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains, Brecon and Talybont Canal and the beautiful surrounding farmland the showground slopes gently down to the sides of the River Usk making for a most picturesque and atmospheric location.

The County Show takes place on the first Saturday of every August and is a wonderful friendly family day out with something of interest for all. There are many competitive livestock and arable classes of the best that the County has to offer by way of cattle, sheep, goats, poultry, crops and horses. The Show hosts exciting main ring action and provides childrens entertainment. Displays of gun dogs, hounds, horse relay, bird of prey demonstrations, fishing displays, live shearing and a vintage rally provide enjoyable spectacles to make you smile. We have a highly popular and humorous dog agility competition which is open to all entrants and proves great fun. There are impressive horticultural and domestic competitions, the displays within those marquees being most delightful.

We host many varied food stalls offering delicious and traditional fare such as cakes, breads, strawberries, pancakes, pies, cheeses, meats, olives, preserves and charcuterie. Likewise there is a wide range of beverages available by way of home brewing enterprises. Additionally there is an extensive range of craft stands with potential purchases for all. Pretty jewellery, clothing, welsh blankets, exceptional art work, photography, pottery, unique house signs, heraldic plaques, leather goods, antiques to name but a few offerings. Additionally there is a wide and diverse range of commercial trade stands ranging from clothing to tractors. For refreshments we have a range of convenience food outlets, formal seated catering in our lunch Marquee and also a public bar.
