The Mindfulness Revolution is starting to explode in Wales. Tibetan Buddhist Monk to Visit Caerphilly Castle. Public talk on how to deal with stress:
Your mind changes Everything
From the busy mum to the stressed-out executive, we all feel overwhelmed by the stresses and strains of life. But a revolution is happening in Wales using mindfulness, a non-religious form of meditation that has been clinically proven to reduce stress and anxiety.
Buddhist Monk Gelong Thubten will be giving a talk on how to calm our minds and how to let go of the constant pressures of everyday life. The event will be in the Great Hall, Caerphilly Castle on Tuesday evening 17th July doors open 7pm and will also include musical entertainment and a buffet. All funds from the talk will go to two charities, Samye Foundation Wales and Kagyu Samye Dzong, who deliver mindfulness courses and workshops to community groups and organizations in Wales.
Gelong Thubten has delivered mindfulness talks to firms including Ernst and Young and the Institute of Chartered Accountants and offers tips and techniques to senior executives on how to cope with their hectic lifestyle. In addition, hes given mindfulness talks in hospitals, prisons, schools and for social workers. Thubtens work was recently featured in The Times and hes also been interviewed for BBC Radio on how mindfulness can transform peoples lives. We are all aware of the increased pace of todays world, yet it is seldom that we take a step back to look just how it impacts on our daily lives, attitudes and health, said Thubten. Many of the causes of stress just simply dont exist being either memories that have gone, or things that have not yet happened! Of course, its easy to say this, but there is a very important point here: our minds are often so distracted by what-if or if-only that were carried away on an emotional helter-skelter which is seemingly out of control, leading us through a confusing and often painful maze that can be difficult to escape
