Waltz on the Wye, Wales' loveliest Steampunk festival, provides another opportunity for neo-Victorians, airship pilots and time-travellers to gather as a community, dress up to the nines and have great fun!
Based in the beautiful town of Chepstow, on the River Wye on the England/Wales border.
This exciting festival is on the weekend of 18th-20th May 2012.
It all starts on Friday with a welcome barbeque and Bands on the Bandstand featuring Boxcar Aldous Huxley, Gaudy Orde and Newportograd's finest, Rogora Khart. In the evening we have Morgan and West, the Time-Travelling Magicians, performing in the Drill Hall.
Saturday features the specialist Steampunk Market, talks and workshops, Tea Duelling, fun and games plus Contraptions in the Castle.
Saturday evening is the highlight of the weekend; dress up in your finest for the Waltz on the Wye Cabaret and Ball. Entertainment is from our Cabaret and music from Professor Elemental and Pocketwatch.
Sunday offers a little theatre, with 'The String of Pearls', a tale of Sweeney Todd told in high Victorian melodrama. Our final event is a chance to relax in the evening, with a performance by singer Ellen Elizabeth Cox at the Three Tuns.
