Bike Ride: Exploration of the Upper Towy Valley

The Bike Ride this year will take place on Saturday morning 24th September, leaving from the Car Park at Ysgol Rhys Prichard / Llandovery Primary School at 10 30am, and it will be led by members of the Llandovery Cycling Club.

The ride will take the form of a circuit of the Upper Towy Valley, northwards along the left bank to Rhandirmwyn and then following the right bank of the river southwards through Cilycwm and back to Llandovery.

Approximate distances are 12 kms northwards and 13kms southwards, making a total of some 25kms.

For those riders who would like to see more of the Towy Valley, then extensions northwards from Rhandirmwyn are suggested to Junction Pool, Dinas Bird Reserve, or even Llyn Brianne Dam.

For those riders who want a ride a little less strenuous, the circuit may be shortened by returning to Llandovery by crossing the river on any of the four intervening bridges to be found on the main circuit.

Refreshment facilities are available on the way in Rhandirmwyn at the Twm ShÔn Catti Tea Rooms and the Royal Oak Inn, and at the Neuadd Arms in Cilyycwm
