Liliwen Herbs is a herb-growing business located on a small-holding in the Carmarthenshire hills, run by herb-grower Lucie Scott.
Liliwen Herbs grows everything using natural methods, without agrichemicals (and would be certified organic if the fees were affordable). The range of herbs grown is mainly culinary, although some are also used by people medicinally too.
The range of fresh-cut herbs sold includes Basil, Chives, Chervil, Coriander, Dill, Lovage, Mint, Parsley, Rocket, Sage, Tarragon and Thyme. These are usually supplied in 35g bags, or 50g for Rocket, but larger quantities are available for catering. Liliwen Herbs also does an increasingly popular Mixed Salad Leaves (100g bag) which contains a variety of tasty and interesting leaves aswell as edible flowers!
The dried-herb range includes herbs for both cooking and for drinking as teas. Culinary favourites are Bay Leaves, Marjoram, Oregano, Parsley, Sage and a Bouquet Garni mix. Teas include Calendula, Chamomile, Fennel Seed, Nettle, Peppermint, Raspberry Leaf, Red Clover. Liliwen Herbs also makes their own blends for drinking, such as Womens Wellbeing Mix, Nettle & Peppermint, Nettle & Lemon Balm. A refreshing summer drink, which is also nice drunk as iced tea is Peppermint & Lemon Balm.
Herb-infused oils and vinegars are for use in salad dressings, stir-frys, or to add an extra special garnish to your food (drizzle over a roast or soup before serving). They are made using either organic sunflower oil or organic white wine/cider vinegar. The oils include Basil, Garlic, Rosemary, Sage and Thyme. Vinegars are made using Thyme and Dill Seed.
Liliwen Herbs also makes skin balms using herb-infused oils and beeswax no other ingredients so very gentle on skin. Calendula Skin Balm is used by people for many things from chapped skin to a herbal antiseptic, and Peppermint Foot Rub surely needs little further explanation!
Themed herbal gift-packs are available which contain a combination of skin balms and herb teas. These include Winter Wellbeing, Mum-To-Be and Mother&Baby packs.
