Wales World Trade Fair 2011

The Multi-Cultural Events 5th Year!

Roll up, roll up for the second annual Wales World Trade Fair in Abergavenny. The fair this year will be bigger and better than ever. We have support from Vodaphone World of Difference, Awards for all, The Welsh Assembly, Oxfam Cymru, The Welsh Co-op, the Co-operative Society, and Brecon and Abergavenny councils.

The first day starts with a march from the Market Hall in Brecon led by Martha Musonza Holman dressed in traditional African costume. She will be joined by local schoolchildren dressed as African warriors. Also with us will be the 1879 re-enactment group with brass band dressed as British soldiers from the Zulu conflicts. Leading the march with Martha will be the Mayor of Brecon and Kirsty Williams AM.

This will be followed by a large trade fair in Brecon Guild Hall.

Then on the Sunday in the Market Hall, Abergavenny, we have the largest Fair/ethical trade fair in Wales. 50 stalls selling Fairly traded goods from around the world. There is African dancing, drumming and food alongside many Charity stalls. Sponsored by Fairtrade Wales and Oxfam Cymru.

So come along and celebrate multi-culturalism as Wales embraces the World!
