Newport's first city centre food festival will have local producer stalls, chef demonstrations and family activities including a Ready Steady Cook competition. You can also enjoy time out with a plate of food and some music from Newport's local bands.
Focused around the Indoor Market and The Riverfront Theatre area alongside the River Usk, the City Centre event will be alive with local producer stalls, chef demonstrations, music and family activities.
True Taste Gold Award Winner Stephen Terry, Chef/Patron of The Hardwick Restaurant near Abergavenny is one of the headline chefs signed up already with fun things on the menu including local cook offs between Newport neighbourhoods, as well as a chance to enjoy some time out with a plate of food and some music from Newports local bands.
The Festival kicks off on the evening of Friday 28 October with a spectacular 170 guest festival supper which will give residents, local producers, chefs and businesses the opportunity to network and sample the very best of Newports cuisine
The entire family will find food to captivate their imagination with fun activities like welsh-cake making and cooking pumpkin soups while some of the best chefs in Wales will be running cooking demonstrations showing visitors how to recreate their exciting recipes at home.
Newport has long had links to the food industry and is ideally placed to take advantage of the excellent food produced on its doorstep. This event is about highlighting the talent that exists in this vibrant city and building Newports reputation as a premier destination for food lovers.
