Monmouth Festival

The 9-Day Musical Extravaganza

Centered in the historic town of Monmouth in the beautiful Wye Valley, the Festival kicks off every year on the last Friday in July.

The festival is a free annual 9-day event, focused on the main stage but also with satellite activities around the town. Primarily a music festival, we offer you Rock, Blues, Soul, Ska, Jazz, Folk, Classical and world music, along with a wide variety of non-music attractions over the nine days.

This year we have the usual mix of local and national talent, with a variety of musical styles. Enjoy the rap irreverance of Goldie Lookin' Chain,
the soul beauty of Big Mac's Wholly Soul Band,
the classical leanings of Hillman String Quartet,
the booming voices of Pontnewydd Male Voice Choir or,
the soaring anthemic covers of Devious.

There is truly something for everyone!

MONMOUTH CARNIVAL

On the 31st July Monmouth Festival also coincides with the Monmouth Carnival, a day long community celebration throughout the town with the usual carnival activities (stalls, crafts, jugglers, face painting funfair etc) with other exciting events such as:

Big Band and Town Band
Zorbing (!!)
Chariot Racing (Ben Hur eat your heart out)
Parades
And much much more!

Parking is plentiful in the town centre – follow the permanent signposts and expect a short walk through the town.

The atmosphere is superb – a huge community celebration - so grab a drink from one of the many pubs and enjoy a great welcome to historic, contemporary Monmouth!
