Textiles at The weir

Jan is an experienced Textile Artist and tutor based at her studio on the outskirts of the small village of Llanddewi Rhydderch, which is just outside the market town of Abergavenny.

She enjoys working with a range of textile media and techniques. Her work takes its inspiration from the Welsh countryside and nature, particularly the mountains that surround Abergavenny.

She runs a variety of textile based courses which cater for all abilities using a range of textile techniques. The courses are taught in small groups up to six with lots of opportunities for one to one tuition. The cost of a day course is £50 which covers basic material requirements, refreshments and lunch.

Gwlan Y Fenni is a new venture using fleece from her flock of Coloured Ryeland sheep to make throws, cushions and smaller items, which are totally natural and ethically produced.
