Voluntary redundancy from the Civil Service allowed me to set up my own studio in 2009. It also gave me the opportunity to enjoy the area where I live and take inspiration from my surroundings. I use ancient, traditional and modern methods in my jewellery making, and incorporate unusual techniques like Viking Weave, Foldforming, and Basket Weaving to produce unique items.

Ominicci Jewellery is mainly Sterling Silver, hallmarked at Edinburgh Assay Office where required. Some items may incorporate gemstones, crystals, handcrafted Glass Lampwork Beads and my own Sterling Silver Focal Beads. I also work with Copper, which can produce a beautiful surface patina (colour) when heated with a naked flame.

Chains made from an ancient method called Viking Weave are a speciality and custom made necklaces and bracelets can be made to any length and width. These are highly suitable for big holed beads like Pandora, Troll, Chamilia, Biagi & LoveLinks and my own Sterling Silver beads.

Another specialism of Ominicci Jewellery is Foldforming; a relatively new metal forging technique which produces incredible 3D shapes and textures from a single flat sheet of metal without any soldering. Jewellery produced with this method is often One Of A Kind (OOAK), and distinctive.

I also indulge in Stained Glass work and enjoy the techniques of both traditional Stained Glass leaded panels, and the more delicate method of copper foiling (Tiffany style). Copper foiling has the added flexibility for creating 3D shapes and I focus on this process in my current work to produce gifts and ornaments, both hanging and static. I endeavour to bring Stained Glass up to date by creating modern quirky objects including ‘Everlasting Flowers’, personalised Nameplates, and Hot Air Balloons.
