Handmade guitars, ukuleles and folk instruments using sustainable and reclaimed timbers, wherever possible.
I have always enjoyed making things in wood and, combined with my love of the guitar, I was probably destined to make guitars! I studied musical instrument technology in London but preferred to return to rural Monmouthshire to practice my craft and I now build and repair bespoke guitars and other fretted instruments.
I will work to commission and can make a guitar out of almost any tonewood, although experience suggests that some woods are better suited acoustically, visually and ethically. Many of my guitars have European Spruce soundboards and braces and Walnut for the bodies the Walnut rich chocolate colour gives the piece visual beauty with excellent acoustic properties. I use indigenous, locally sourced timber, wherever possible.
I hand-made every instrument with the customers playing needs and aesthetic designs in mind and the finished product is a finely crafted, unique instrument with rich tonal qualities.
