Border Bears

Coloured fleece and farm-made felt are the basics of the business.

Graig Fach Farm is a small grassland farm in the foothills of the Black Mountains and is home to a flock of coloured sheep, kept especially for their fine fleeces. Some interesting coloured sheep are always available for sale.

Olwen sells her wool to hand spinners, weavers and felters, as well as using it for her own felting. She makes teddybears and animals, bags, rugs, mats, slippers and Christmas decorations.

Her larger bears are made from conventional wet felt, cut and sewn. The miniature bears and other animals are made by needlefelting. Bears of all shapes and sizes can be made to order and can be fitted with hand knitted jumpers which can be personalised on request.
