Sheep Dog Trial Winners - Llandovery Sheep Festival 20112011

As in 2010 organised once again by Huw Rees, Dan Yr Allt

The Judge was Mr Arwel Organ, from Llandysul.

The sheep were kindly provided by Mr Kinsey Powell, Gwernfellen, Llandovery.

The field was leant by Mr & Mrs Hywel Lewis, Glantowy

We ran 2 compétition with over 100 competitors in total


• .South Wales Style - ap Gruffydd Trophy:-
1st Colin Gorden with Mirk
2nd Alan Williams with Spot
3rd David Meek with Mirk [not the same Mirk as the winner]
4th Meirion Jones with Jess
5th Gwynfor Thomas with Nell

• National Style - Lloyds Bank Trophy:-
1st Colin Gorden with Jess
2nd Meirion Jones with Joe
3rd Sheila Lewis with Nell
4th Gwesyn Davies with May
Joint 5th Ioan Jones with Glen
5th Idris Morgan with Ned

As well as cash prizes winners also received a large bag of dog food each , kindly donated by Cambrian Pet Foods, Llangadog.

We ran the competition from dawn to dusk on the Saturday and were also joined by Actor/comedians Simon Day and John Thompson who also competed. They were filming a new series for the History Channel. No details of the series are yet available. All we know is that each programme will feature one county in the UK and that it highlights traditional rural skills.
