Brechfa Forest is the 18,000 acre wedge of ancient and managed forest in South Wales between the western edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the southern edge of the Cambrian Mountains.
On our doorstep is the longest beach in Wales, the famous 7 mile long Cefn Sidan. The hugely popular Pembrey Country Park combines to make a great day out for all the family.
Brechfa Forest is part of Cothi valley, providing walkers, cyclists (both road and mountain bikers) and horse riders with beautiful circular routes to explore.
Brechfa Forest is becoming widely respected in mountain biking circles. We have three trails all designed by Rowan Sorrell.
The River Cothi is the largest tributary of the River Tywi in south Wales. It is noted for its trout and sea trout (sewin) fishing and for its beautiful scenery.
The Brechfa Forest area makes an ideal base for exploring South West Wales. Its an area easy to reach from the M4, but just a short drive from the Brecon Beacons and Cambrian mountains.
Birdwatchers may want to visit the National Wetlands Centre.
Keen gardeners will be spoilt for choice with both the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Aberglasney just a short drive away.
