Join us on a forage to explore the wild foods of the Severn Estuary. Henry Ashby, expert forager and supplier of wildfood to Wales top restaurants, will lead this foray on the outskirts of Chepstow along the Severn Estuary.
Henry will teach you how to identify edible treats and how to forage sustainably. Our foraging adventure will take us to 2 different habitats: Meadow and Coastal River. You will learn all about the wild foods in these 2 different environments: salt marsh vegetables as well as meadow herbs and vegetables. There may also be the last of the summer berries and the start of the autumn nuts.
After our forage we will head to The Village Inn to enjoy a light bite featuring foraged foods. We will talk about the wild foods found on the day and give you lots of ideas and tips on what to do with your edible treats.
Please bring good outdoor clothes and shoes/boots. If you want to forage close to the waters edge, please bring wellies. Be prepared for all types of weather!
