A scenic Half Marathon in the beautiful village of
Betws y Coed, North Wales, the principal village of the Snowdonia National Park. Covering more than 800 square miles, the park is a region of haunting beauty and grandeur, of wild rocky mountains, hidden valleys, cascading rivers, still glacial lakes and deep forests.
In brief, the race starts in the main park next to the railway station, it then heads right and over Pont y Pair bridge and up through the forestry adjacent to the river Llugwy, it then heads upwards undulating for approx 2 miles, then one of the best bits as you dip in to a valley that opens up to the views of Lake Geirionydd, you then run adjacent to the lake and out of the valley and along the country lanes to the small village of Llanrhychwyn.
From the village you go down hill again (quite steeply) through some stunning forestry and great views until you reach the village of Trefriw, then from here you head back along the roads via Gwydyr Castle to the finish
at Betws y Coed.
