Take time off from the hustle and bustle of the usual week to relax on a Saturday night with two of poetry's most well respected and prestigious poets, Robert Minhinnick and Sean O'Brien.
ROBERT MINHINNICK
Robert Minhinnick, the 'leading Welsh poet of his generation' (Sunday Times), creates poems which resonate in his compelling reading, his unhurried manner underpinning their precise forces.
He edits Poetry Wales, and founded both Friends of the Earth Cymru (Wales) and Sustainable Wales. He has received a John Morgan award for his prose, Gregory and Cholmondeley awards for his poetry, two Arts Council of Wales Literature Prizes, and has won the Forward Prize for Best Single Poem twice, for 'Twenty Five Laments for Iraq' and 'The Fox in the National Museum of Wales'.
SEAN O'BRIEN
Described by Poetry Review as "the poet-editor-critic of his generation" it is clear that O'Brien infuses his poetry with intelligence and knowledge. For this he has won numerous awards including the Cholmondeley Award, the Somerset Maugham award, the E.M. Forster Award and, twice, the Forward Prize for Best Collection.
Join us then for an autumnal feast of imagery and ideas as two brilliant speakers of their poems come together for an evening of elegant, emotional and frankly delicious poetry.
