Spectacularly set in the beautiful Tywi valley of Carmarthenshire, Aberglasney House features one of the finest gardens in Wales. Aberglasney Gardens have been an inspiration to poets since 1477. The story of Aberglasney spans many centuries, but, the house's origins are still shrouded in obscurity.

Carmarthenshire Growers Association (CGA) will be hosting a Plant Fair in the Gardens with a wonderful array of trees, shrubs and plants from specialist growers in Carmarthenshire.

The C.G.A. is a group of independent nurseries working together in Carmarthenshire to promote Horticulture in Carmarthenshire, the Garden of Wales.

They are are a as diverse group of growers, offering a range of plants from alpines through a huge selection of perennials, grasses, shrubs, trees, and water plants to specialist growers of auriculas, hollies, fruit trees, walnuts, snowdrops and basket plants - to name a few. Many of the plants are unusual and occasionally rare, but many are old favourites.

Only Men Aloud Concert at Aberglasney Gardens

Aberglasney Restoration Trust is proud to announce that the bienniel concert in the Gardens will this year feature "Only Men Aloud".

Only Men Aloud won the BBC series "The Best Choir Standing" and have gone from strength to strength since.

What a difference a year makes! Only Men Aloud have now released their second album. Band of Brothers was released a year after the compeition and gained them the title of "The Nation's Favourite Choir" and launched them into a new realm.

The choir, made up 20 young men from South Wales, have experienced a rollercoaster ride since winning the BBC1 prime time Saturday night show. Within hours of winning and following a vicious bidding war between major record labels, Only Men Aloud signed a mult-million pound, five album deal with Universal Music.

The record deal, the largest ever for a choir by quite some margin, was signed at Wales' iconic Millenium Stadium exactly a year to the week before their second album launch. Their first album achieved fold status within a week and went on to sell over a quarter of a million copies.

Pride & Prejudice - Open Air Theatre

Chapterhouse Theatre Company is a professional touring production group bringing its wide range of experience to venues across Britain. The Company prides itself on fully accessible, traditional but innovative productions. Chapterhouse Theatre Company are now entering their 10th season of productions.

Chapterhouse now perform in over 130 different locations around Great Britain, Northern Ireland and Ireland for their garden theatre season, including many of the most beautiful settings such as Aberglasney Gardens.


Janes Austen's "Pride & Prejudice" is the perfect summer evening's entertainment, rich in romance and betrayal and loss in the English countryside. What better way to spend a summer evening than picnicing with family and friends in the grounds of Aberglasney Gardens and joining Chapterhouse for an evening of theatre under the stars.

Opera in the Gardens

The annual Opera performed in conjunction with the Llandeilo Fawr Festival of Music and Flowers.

Tickets are £30 each.

As usual, there will be an extended interval, to enable festival-goers to picnic on the lawns of this very special venue. Those who prefer to be waited on may order buffet meals and wine in advance (Telephone 01558 668131).

The exiled Duke Prospero conjures a tempestuous storm to lure his enemies to a strange and mysterious island, drawing them through a web of enchantment and illusion as his powers reach their summit: A colourful and fascinating tale for all the family.


Sex in The Garden

Join Director Graham Rankin for an intimate but light-hearted study of the sexual reproduction of plants in the garden. All too often the intricate beauty and complexity of flowers are taken for granted.

This will be a fascinating eye opening observation of plant reproduction.
