Just as the surrounding area is steeped in history, Wilton Court has a rich sense of the past. Wilton Court was originally a Magistrates Court . What is now the Riverview restaurant and bar was once the court room while the bedrooms directly above were the magistrates chambers. Here the original 16th century stone fire places have been restored. In the cellar below a passageway that has now been blocked off led through to the jail accross the road. Wilton castle once occupied by the Longchamps, De Grey and Bridges families is a short walk from the hotel.
Of equal historical interest is the Wilton Bridge built to cross over to Ross on Wye. Before this time, the Wilton Court river bank was the main fording point ahead of the ferry and later barges making Wilton an important part of the trading route.

The Wilton Court prides itself on using the finest local produce. Seasonally changing menus are served in the Mulberry or Riverview restaurant for dinner from Monday to Saturday and for traditional Sunday lunch.
The Mulberry Restaurant seats 50 diners on two levels. The stylish conservatory opens onto a walled garden with a 300 year old Mulberry tree. Two tables on the lower level are available for guests requiring sheel chair access. The Riverview restaurant and bar is open seven days for lunch and dinner serving both a Market Menu and an a la carte menu . The Mulberry Restaurant is open for dinner and traditional Sunday lunch. A childrens selection and vegetarian options are always available. The Riverview restaurant enjoys an open fire in winter.
