Sue and Martin welcome you to our 300 year old home which is situated in the centre of the pretty village of Llyswen, overlooking the Black Mountains and on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. We are ideally located for walking in the Brecon Beacons, fishing and canoeing on the River Wye, pony trekking and gliding in the Black Mountains.
Llyswen is situated between three well known tourist towns of Hay on Wye (the Town of Books), Brecon (gateway to the Beacons) and Builth Wells (home of the Royal Welsh Show).
We are ideally situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and overlooking the majestic Black Mountains. We are only a mile and a half from Llangoed Hall , (renouned wedding venue) and 25 miles from the Red Kite Feeding Centre at Rhayader.
Our village, Llyswen has recently been voted number 10 in the Top Ten Desirable Villages in Britain as reported in the Daily Mail in February 2008 and put at no.4 in Channel 5's 'The Property List' in June 2008.
Why 'Wye Knot Stop'?
Our name, although a play on words, actually comes from the way the river meanders to create the 'knot'. This is commonly known as an Oxbow bend
