Peppinos, our beautifully restored 60 seat restaurant in a contemporary setting, has also been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for its food and included in The Good Food Guide, the only AA Rosettes in Porthmadog; these are based on inspection reports and customer recommendations, ranking with the very best in Gwynedd.
The name Peppinos is Mediterranean, which reflects atmosphere and the way in which customers are looked after. The style of cooking is Modern European with a European influence for the more adventurous and also a classic British Fayre, for those who enjoy traditional meals at lunch or in the evening. Only Welsh supplied produce is used in our kitchen.
Menus are changed to reflect seasons and can includes several signature dishes such as pan fried Italian style garlic mushrooms, Scallops, Salmon fillet, Trout Hake from Llandudno Smokery, absolutely delicious Llanelli Salt Marsh Lamb, Glamorgan fillet medallions and Guinea Fowl, to name but a few.
For vegetarians, we have a cherry tomato penne pasta, Risotto, South Italian style, and another signature dish, a Mozzarella and Red Onion Tart which, Patti Bright from the Daily Post, August 2009, described as absolutely delicious.
For those who like good 'old' traditional favourites, we cook Char Grilled Pembrokeshire Rib Eye steaks, Tempura battered fresh fish of the day, meaty Glamorgan pork sausages n mash with onion gravy and succulent Pembrokeshire lamb shanks, (where the lamb just falls off the bone) home made breads and hand cut chunky chips
These are followed by home made sweets, creamy welsh ice creams or sorbets and full flavour award winning Welsh cheeses, with home made chutneys
