Built as a Victorian country railway station, this Green Flag award winning site is situated in the beautiful Wye Valley (AONB) and is a quiet haven from the hussle and bussle of daily life.
The tea room serves breakfasts, light snacks and home baked cakes, toilets, including disabled, local tourist information, play area, childrens activities always available, wooden sculptures of local historical characters, gift shop, signal box exhibitions. Nominal parking charge. Coaches by appointment.
Our refurbished railway carriages house the Destination Wye Valley exhibition, a new shop and reception as well as a multi use space ideal for small meetings, birthday parties, activities, nursery groups and private afternoon tea parties.
Victorian tea rooms are open daily (Easter to end October and weekends to mid December) from 9.30am 5.30pm offering light lunches, home baked cakes a speciality and serving freshly ground rainforest alliance coffee as well as Afternoon teas as featured in the AA Afternoon tea guide
Signal Box
The signal box hosts on a weekly basis craft and art exhibitions. The calendar of exhibitors is available from reception.
The Circle of Legends
Six wooden sculptures of local historical characters. Each character has a designated walk which are free to download from our web site.
Camping.
Set in a secluded meadow the camp site is ideal for those seeking to get away from the stress and strain of modern living. Bookings can be made at reception. There are no showers but there is 24 hour access to toilets and running fresh water.
Friends of Old Station Tintern
The Friends of Old Station Tintern is a group of volunteers who work to improve the green space and facilities around Old Station. Membership to the Friends group is £5 per annum. If you wish to join simply send a cheque made payable to Friends of Old Station Tintern.
Miniature Railway and Childrens play area
The miniature railway will operate more regularly during 2013 - contact us for details. The site has a well equipped childrens play area.
