Monmouth Nordic Walking

Low impact fitness technique. Tailor-made guided walk in the Monmouthshire countryside.

Nordic Walking was first developed in the 1930's to enable cross-country skiers to train in the summer months. It uses specially designed poles to enhance your natural walking experience. It has become a whole body exercise that can be enjoyed at many levels. There are 3 techniques - HEALTH, FITNESS, & SPORT.

Katie Farrington is an INWA trained Nordic Walking Instructor, operating in the Monmouthshire area.

Walks can be designed to suit an individual's level of fitness and meet their personal goals.

Nordic Walking is a low impact form of exercise.

It tones the upper body, legs and arms resulting in shaping, toning and inch loss.

Nordic walking increases cardiovascular fitness, releases muscular tension in the neck and shoulders and helps to strengthen back and and abdominal muscles.

It exercises over 90% of skeletal muscle compared to the 70% used when running. This is because it involves the muscles in the upper body and arms.

Nordic Walking burns 46% more calories than normal walking.
