The historic parkland of Cottrell Park is set in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan and it is an idyllic setting for a golfing venue. Cottrell is very conveniently located, being only a few miles from Cardiff and it’s International Airport. The beautiful parkland covers over 400 acres and offers breathtaking views sweeping northwards as far as the Brecon Beacons and southwards over the Bristol Channel to the Mendips.

During the past centuries, several families who have played important roles in the history of Great Britain and North America resided at Cottrell, including the Merricks, the Buttons, the Gwinnetts, the Tylers, and the Mackintosh of Mackintosh. A notable member of the Gwinnett family was Button Gwinnett, who was one of the fifty-six men that assembled at Philadelphia in 1776 to sign the Declaration of Independence and examples of his signature have been sold for $150,000, making it one of the most valuable in the world.

The golfing facilities include two magnificent Championship Golf Courses, the Mackintosh, (6,568 yards off the blue tees), and the Button Gwinnett, (6229 yards off the white tees), as well as two state-of-the-art Golf Simulators, an all weather driving range, putting greens and golf practice areas.

The Clubhouse, with its exposed beams and flagstones, has a rustic but cosy feel to it. The friendly and comfortable atmosphere helps you to relax after a hard day’s work or play and there is an extensive bar menu available throughout the day. The Clubhouse facilities include several rooms that can be set-up in a wide variety of styles, for conferences and meetings.

New for 2012 has seen the introduction of a luxury Marquee erected alongside the main clubhouse building overlooking teh courses, gardens and patio. This new facility is available to hire for all occasions including Weddings, Gala Dinners, Fundraisers and Corporate Hospitality Events. The Marquee can cater for numbers of up to 450 guests.
