Priory Hotel

12th Century monastery, now a hotel

The Priory is a hotel of great quality and character set in secluded grounds in the historic town of Caerleon on the River Usk. This grand handsome building dates back to 1180. Originally a Cistercian monastery, it later became a nunnery. Many of the finest features from the past have been preserved, including the ancient flagstones and the very rare sixteenth century glass medallions which surround the nun's court.

The Oak Panel Room, with antique stained glass and ornate oak panels dating back to 1622, is ideal for private dining and wedding receptions.

The atmospheric large bar area is perfect for socialising and holding informal meetings, taking full advantage of free Wi-Fi.

The Priory Hotel has 22 beautifully decorated bedrooms. Choose from sumptuous traditional deluxe rooms or more modern doubles, twins or family rooms all in an historic setting within the Priory grounds.

A wonderful selection of daily fresh fish, seafood, and game is displayed in the main restaurant, complemented by a vast cellar of wines, champagnes and ports, served from The Priory's spectacular Oak Bar.
