The Hostel has one sleeping area upstairs with 2 double/twin beds and 2 single comfortable futons. There is a sofa bed downstairs. There is a fully accessible wet room on the ground floor, plus a secure lock-up for bikes.
It is an ideal venue for a group who want to explore the area, learn a new skill, such as felt making, enjoy working in our Woodland Garden, etc.
No smoking is allowed in the Meeting House.
Heating/Cooking Facilities
The Meeting House is heated with under-floor heating plus electric fires to boost the heat. There is a well equipped kitchenette for self catering. Meals are also available locally.
What to bring: We supply bed linen and towels.
Getting Here
We are on the A44 in Penybont - Look out for the large yellow Tea pot signs.
Nearest public transport
Local bus stop in village to Llandrindod Wells and Hereford.
The Heart of Wales, Penybont railway station is 1.5 miles away. We will arrange pick-up.
You can travel further west on over the mountains, visiting Devil's Bridge, to Aberystwyth, and the sea. If you take the mountain Road to Machynlleth, you can enjoy the scenic drive, and then visit the Centre for Alternative Technology.
East and north takes in Kington, Knighton and Presteigne with Hergest Croft Gardens, the Space Guard Centre, and the Judges' Lodgings Museum all worth a visit.

The Thomas Shop itself celebrates the history of shop-keeping and traditional skills in Mid-Wales, with a grocery/drapery museum shop dating back to 1805.
We also support local makers through 2 galleries one of which is the Wool Emporium.
There is a cafe on site where we celebrate home cooking from local ingredients.
Local Attractions:
The pastel countryside of Radnorshire is ideal for a leisurely retreat or respite from a pressured life, for walking, cycling, fishing and many other pastimes. You can wander from the house along the River Ithon, over Penybont Common, or along the ridge of Llandegley Rocks.
The Pales, Quaker Meeting House, which provides a place for contemplation, a step back in time, and fabulous views, is just a short walk away.
A few miles West along the A44 brings you to Rhayader and the Elan Valley. Cycles can be hired in Rhayader. Also in Rhayader you can visit the Red Kite Centre at Grigrin Farm. Also in Rhayader there is an exciting local museum at Carad.
In the Wider Area
