The Dragons Back - camping

The Dragons Back is situated in the heart of the Black Mountains, at over 1000 ft above sea level it is the highest pub in the Brecon Beacons. The Inn takes it's name from Castell Dinas, an iron age fort on the hilltop behind the pub. The Castle Inn was built over 300 years ago and was originally a farm house. The Inn is set in stunning scenery and you can go on many beautiful walks and breathtaking rides straight from the door.

The Dragons Back has a small campsite for approx 50, with toilets & a free hot shower.

On site we also have B&B rooms for 10 and bunkhouses for a total of 28.

We pride ourselves on providing a good variety of well kept real ales, and excellent home cooked food at reasonable prices.

The four B&B rooms are a twin, a double, a double/twin - these are all en-suite, and
finally a family room with it's own private bathroom, this room can be shared by up to 4 people, for as little as £24 pp per night B&B.
All our rooms have freeview tv and coffee/tea making facillities.

We have 3 bunk rooms, a 6/10 and 12 bed room.
They are centrally heated and have their own
wet rooms . These rooms are subject to a set fee and used for sole occupancy.

Our facillities include a drying room &secure storage for mountain bikes. Inside the pub we have a pool table, dart board, and selection of board games. We also have a 50 inch plasma tv to watch those special sporting moments.

We cater for singles, couples and groups up to 70 in number.

The Inn's location means that a huge array of outdoor activities are available from hiking to biking and from kayaking to gliding.
