Robin's Barn

Robin’s Barn is an attractive, detached stone cottage with far reaching views over the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. The 2-bedroomed cottage offers cosy accommodation in winter with its woodburner and in the summer, it’s a great place to enjoy the outdoors with the lovely view, and paths leading from the door.

Tucked away down a quiet country lane in the tiny hamlet of Tregagle, Robin’s Barn is situated next to the owners’ secluded home. The cottage has a terrace to sit and enjoy the view over the valley.

Robin’s Barn is a comfortable, well equipped self catering cottage for 3 people. A spiral staircase leads from the open plan living area to the 2-bedroomed upstairs accommodation.

The cottage provides all year round comfort, with the woodburning stove supplying warmth in the winter. There is a plentiful supply of free logs. In the summer months, guests can enjoy the birds’ eye view of the valley from the terrace which is equipped with comfortable chairs and a barbecue. For the energetic, there is a hard tennis court.

It is doggy heaven, with paths leading from the door. With easy access to the Wye Valley Walk and the long distance Offa’s Dyke Path, it is tempting to abandon the car for the week. The local good food pub is a short stroll up the lane. The whole area is very well mapped out with a large variety of local walking guides and maps. The wild life is varied, with deer, foxes, badgers, buzzards, owls and woodpeckers being frequent visitors. It is identified as a local wildlife site, as there is a huge variety of wildflowers, many of which are quite rare.

Robin’s Barn, in the heart of the Wye Valley is only 5 miles from the historic town of Monmouth and it is within easy reach of the Usk Valley, Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountains and charming medieval Herefordshire villages. There are many sites of historic interest – castles, churches and abbeys. It is an excellent base for cycle ways, canoeing trips, horse riding or even a high wire forest adventure.

Secluded location in designated area of outstanding natural beauty and an ideal base to explore the Wye Valley.
