The East Coast of Anglesey offers a number of extensive golden beaches all along the A5025 such as Llanddona Beach, a blue flag award sandy beach popular for swimming, canoeing and windsurfing.
Red Wharf Bay, one of the largest bays in Anglesey attracts a profusion of wildlife. The small promenade of Red Wharf Bay fronts a glorious sandy beach home to many boats of the Red Wharf Sailing Club. It has three restaurants, The Ship Inn, with a beer garden that has views to die for, The Old Boathouse, a super family friendly café/bistro, with alfresco dining, and St Davids Tavern on the headland.
Benllech (more like a traditional British seaside resort), Traeth Bychan , a small but popular sheltered beach, Moelfre (famous for its lifeboat legacy) and Traeth Lligwy a secluded sandy beach situated between Dulas Bay and Moelfre, popular for swimming, fishing and water sports.
North coast beaches
The north coast of Anglesey can be reached by turning north on the A5025 towards Amlwch (an old fishing port associated with the Copper Kingdom of Parys Mountain), Cemaes Bay (a very attractive sheltered bay with an extensive golden beach) and a little further on there is the nature reserve at Cemlyn and the very attractive Church Bay (Porth Swtan) with its tall cliffs and the oldest cottage on Anglesey.
