Tintern Abbey Cottage

Originating from the 18th century, Tintern Abbey Cottage is chocolate box cute and has been transformed into a 5 star smartly contemporary,deliciously comfortable and exceptionally equipped holiday house in an ancient body. Perfect for special celebrations, honey moons and relaxing breaks year round, pet friendly, it is right across the road from the mighty roofless Abbey, of which it has glorious panoramic views.The cottage directly adjoins the Wye Valley Walk, and is in the heart of the ancient conservation area of Tintern

Tintern Abbey Cottage sleeps 6 and has three bedrooms with superking ( 6 feet wide) beds which can each become a pair of 3 ft twin beds on request. One of the bedrooms is spacious the others are standard size original cottage rooms and as in the 18thCentury beds were not 6 feet across there is less spare space in the rooms. All bedrooms have mirrors, hanging and drawer space, hairdryers and are fully heated. Each has a TV and ipod dock/clock radio.

There are two bathrooms with both bath and shower in each.
The downstairs bathroom is ensuite to the bedroom and has a dinnerplate headed shower. The upstairs bathroom also has a shower over thre whirlpool bath - which has wonderful Abbey Views to enjoy as you soak.
Both have lit mirors and shaving sockets, heated towel rails, loo and washbasin and storage space for your cosmetics.

The bright and warm sitting room has a cosy woodburner, squishy leather suite, books and DVDs and a TV with a large flat screen.
The dining room is smart, with leather chairs and a light wood table.
Our kitchen will please the most demanding cook - fully fitted with all mod cons ( washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer and a super range cooker with extractor hood) plus of course all the necessary pots pand an utensils.

Outside our sheltered and fenced back garden with furniture is a delightful place to sit in the sun, whilst the stone bench in the front terrace offers the Abbey view at its best.. Exquisitely romantic when lit at night, this has already been the scene of more than one proposal.
We have private off road parking and more parking is available nearby.

A very full inventory including many extras ,and modern basics like WiFi double glazing , excellent insulation, and a green central heating system go without saying. All in all it is well up to the official 5 star standards- standards our many repeat guests at Foxes Reach and Vanilla ( our longer established cottages ) have come to trust.

GOLF! Tintern Abbey Cottage is ideally placed for amazing golf. at the 20 or so courses in under an hours drive. We have a lockable store for your clubs and we can even help you to locate a caddy.
WALK! We are on the Wye Valley walk and can see Offas Dyke on the hill in front of us.
There are masses of geocaches locally, one right by the cottage!
