Outdoor Alternative provides group accommodation in Rhoscolyn, Anglesey, North Wales. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with direct access to a superb and varied coastline, Outdoor Alternative is ideally placed for visitors to participate in a wide range of interests.

Our 3 star quality group accommodation consists of two purpose-built, comfortable buildings. Excellent home-cooked food is available, or visitors can use our well-equipped self-catering facilities if they prefer.

Rhoscolyn offers tremendous scope for a wide range of outdoor activities including kayaking, climbing and subaqua as well as pursuits such as walking, bird watching, and family beach holidays.

Outdoor Alternative is a well established venue for educational groups on field studies trips with more than 20 years experience of hosting academic groups.

Our location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty provides many interesting and relevant opportunities for the study of the natural environment right on our doorstep. Regular customers include primary schools on activity holidays, secondary schools studying sciences and geography, and Colleges and Universities studying Biology, Geology and Sports Science.

We are also used as a study retreat in the winter for A Level students.

Outdoor Alternative has purpose-built accommodation designed to provide comfortable year round facilities for groups of up to 36 in 2 adjacent buildings. There are some facilities for people who use wheelchairs.

The accommodation is clean, warm and well ventilated. The beds are comfortable; pillows, duvets, freshly laundered sheet sleeping bags are provided. The buildings are fully centrally heated and have a wash-hand basin in each bedroom. Showers, washrooms and toilets are either en-suite or adjacent to the bedrooms.

There are good sized common rooms which can be used for working, relaxing and socialising. All of the accommodation is open and available throughout the day.
