The Dragons Back Bunkhouse

The Dragons Back is situated in the heart of the Black Mountains, at over 1000 ft above sea level it is the highest pub in the Brecon Beacons. The Inn takes it's name fromthe ridge behind Castell Dinas, an iron age fort on the hilltop behind the pub. The Castle Inn was built over 300 years ago and was originally a farm house. The Inn is set in stunning scenery and you can go on many beautiful walks and breathtaking rides straight from the door.

We have very flexible accommodation with bunkhouses for a total of 28, B&B rooms for 10 and camping for approx 50.

We pride ourselves on providing a good variety of well kept real ales, and excellent home cooked food at reasonable prices.

We have 3 bunk rooms, a 6/10 and 12 bed room.
They are centrally heated and have their own
wet rooms . These rooms are for sole group occupancy. We now have a self catering dining kitchen available for bunkhouse guests.


We have four B&B rooms available, a twin,
a double, a double/twin - these are all en-suite, and
finally a family room with it's own private bathroom.
All our rooms have freeview tv and coffee/tea making facillities.

Finally we have a small campsite, with toilets &
a free hot shower.

Our facillities include a drying room &secure storage for mountain bikes. Inside the pub we have a pool table, dart board, and selection of board games. We also have a 50 inch plasma tv to watch those special sporting moments.

We cater for singles, couples and groups up to 70 in number.

The Inn's location means that a huge array of outdoor activities are available from hiking to biking and from kayaking to gliding.
