Swansea Valley Holiday Cottages are four award winning Wales Tourist Board accredited self catering holiday cottages set in an idyllic countryside location. The farm cottages are situated on opposite sides of a courtyard and were originally outbuildings of the Plas Cilybebyll Estate, which has a recorded history back to the 14th century. High hills of blue pennant sandstone provide a romantic background to the Welsh holiday cottages. Visitors may roam 120 acres of surrounding countryside which includes beautiful oak woodland, mountain streams and extensive hillside areas with wonderful views of the Swansea Valley, Swansea Bay and Brecon Beacons National Park.
BWTHYN Y SAER (THE CARPENTER'S COTTAGE) Bwthyn Y Saer holiday cottage is located on a working farm in South Wales. There are walks from the doorstep and over a hundred acres of beautiful countryside to enjoy. The cottage is well equipped with one double room and one twin room. The self catering farm holiday accommodation was once an estate carpenter's workshop. The fast flowing waters of the mountain river that runs alongside the holiday cottages, once powered a waterwheel that powered the carpenter's tools. The holiday accommodation is all on ground level, offering easy access for wheelchairs. The cottage consists of a lounge-diner, two bedrooms, bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen. HAFOD Y WENNOL (SWALLOW'S SUMMER DWELLING) Hafod Y Wennol (Swallow's Summer Dwelling) is a very characterful farm cottage, situated on the courtyard of an historic estate. It has a woodburning stove and oil central heating. It is furnished to a high standard and has a lounge, kitchen diner, double room and a twin room. The cottage once served as an estate stable and coachhouse, with the loft being used as a dove cote and an animal food store. Today, the ground floor consists of a kitchen-diner, WC and cosy lounge, equipped with a stone fireplace, woodburning stove, and traditional Welsh furniture. The loft boasts original pine beams, and consists of a bathroom, twin bedroom and master bedroom with twin size bed. This five star farm cottage is very cosy and very popular with those seeking a farm stay holiday in Wales. Our holiday cottages are situated in an idyllic, private countryside setting but you really get the best of both worlds as they are less than 2 miles from Pontardawe which has a major 24 hour supermarket. The holiday cottages are 5 miles from Neath which is a larger market town and 10 miles from the city of Swansea
