East coast beaches

Benllech is a popular seaside destination. Benllech has a wonderful Blue Flag Award beach which is just a short walk from the apartment. The Anglesey Coastal Path and the Wales Coast Path pass through Benllech. Lovely sandy clean beach ideal for building sandcastles and the rock pools are great for catching crabs! Beach rangers patrol the beach in the summer months and provide organised games for the kids. The Blue Flag Award beach is family friendly with toilets and refreshments nearby. In the summer holidays it’s a very busy beach but the beach is wide enough to find a quiet spot if you so wish. Sections of the beach are No dogs but there are plenty of areas where dogs are allowed.

The East Coast of Anglesey offers a number of extensive golden beaches all along the A5025 such as Llanddona, a long sandy beach between Benllech and Penmon, popular for swimming and windsurfing. Red Wharf Bay, home to the famous Ship Inn which has a lovely beer garden, the Old Boathouse Café & Restaurant is a super family friendly café/bistro, with alfresco dining overlooking the beautiful Bay of Red Wharf. Traeth Bychan an east facing, sheltered beach, busy with dinghies, fishing boats and small motor craft in the summer months, quiet and peaceful on a clear winter’s morning, popular with walkers along the Anglesey Coastal Path. Moelfre (famous for its lifeboat legacy) and Traeth Lligwy, a great family beach with shallow shelving making the sea perfect for children to paddle in!

North coast beaches

At the northern end of the A5025, Amlwch is a historic fishing village associated with the ‘Copper Kingdom’ of Parys Mountain whereas Cemaes Bay is an attractive beach resort, close to Cemlyn nature reserve and Church Bay (Porth Swtan) with its tall cliffs and the oldest cottage on Anglesey.

West coast beaches

The beautiful beaches of Trearddur Bay, Rhoscolyn, and Porth Dafarch, are great for family days out. Rhosneigr is a famous water sport resort with a mouth-watering array of cafes and bistros. The award winning beaches at Rhosneigr are safe, sandy and big!

Malltraeth has a fine estuary famous for its waterfowl and Aberffraw was once the seat of Welsh princes. A short walk through the wide expanse of dunes takes you to the glorious sands of Aberffraw beach. Along the A4080 to Newborough Forest, the pine forest leads to an excellent sandy beach, a path leads to the Llanddwyn Island nature reserve, a mystical island steeped in ancient folklore. The southern corner of Anglesey has a lot to recommend it – Llanddwyn Beach at Newborough is a blue flag beach with miles of sandy beach, it’s one of our favourite beaches! Whether you want to build sandcastles, relax, swim, windsurf, kite-surf or take a walk to Llanddwyn Island and explore its lovely cove beaches, Llanddwyn beach is well worth a visit.

The Marram Grass Café, just outside Newborough, run by brothers Ellis and Liam is an absolute gem, ‘real food’ and local produce - you will not be disappointed!

We have a spectacular Coastal Path, long sandy beaches, prehistoric settlements, top-class windsurfing, dedicated cycle routes, high quality local cuisine and much, much more. Anglesey has it all, come and discover its treasures for yourself.

Snowdonia

Across the Menai Strait are the mountains of Snowdonia which offer great opportunities for climbers, walkers, fell runners, mountain-bikers and naturalists. Llanberis is at the heart of Snowdonia: it is from here that the Snowdon Mountain Railway takes passengers to the new visitor centre at the summit.
