The Three Cocks Coaching Inn can be found on the A438 between Hay on Wye and Brecon. This superb hostelry stands back off the road within the village of Aberllynfi (Three Cocks).
The sign of The Three Cocks dates from the battles of Poitiers and Crecy, when a descendant of one of the Welsh rulers fought under Edward 111. His service was rewarded by the king with a coat of arms, namely three cocks on a silver shield. The Inn dates from the fifteenth century and has the unique distinction of being built around a tree, which can still be seen today.
The hostelry sits behind a cobbled forecourt, mounting blocks, worn steps, cracked doorways great oak beams and roaring log fires on cold winter days. To the rear is a large car park and wonderful lawn gardens boarded by a stream.
The building has stood here for 500 years offering the traveller and visitor a relaxed and cosy welcome. It is extremely spacious and comfortable, helping us to create a great feeling of warmth and well being.
This country Inn of immense character offers comfortable accommodation. The 15th Century structure has undergone modernisation and refurbishment over the years but this has been done in a sympathetic way in order to complement its original features. Central heating means that the Inn is warm and cosy throughout, enhanced by the presence of log fires for the coldest winter days. Overall it gives a traditional yet comfortable environment in which to relax.
The Resident's Sitting Room
There is a delightful limed oak-panelled sitting room for the use of Inn guests. Sun streams in through windows on both sides of the room making it a bright and sunny place, exuding warmth and charm. It's a quiet retreat - and the perfect place to relax with a book or enjoy the south-facing view of the garden.
The Garden
A large south-facing garden, mainly laid to lawn and dotted with occasional flowerbeds and borders, stretches down to a small brook running alongside the Inn. This is an attractive setting for a peaceful rest in the sun with plenty of seating for those rare summer evenings.

We dont do organic, its not necessary with such high quality local produce there is no advantage in taste or flavour.
