This very reason has made North Wales a popular destination for holiday makers for many years.

Holiday Ideas
With its impressive ancient sea cliffs, sheltered sandy bays, remote coves, calm or wild waters and smaller offshore islands, visitors can enjoy pursuits such as surfing, windsurfing, kite surfing, scuba diving, water skiing, kayaking, canoeing or sailing, as well as fishing and swimming in waters warmed by the Gulf Stream.

With over 100 wrecks to explore in clean, clear waters and a profusion of marine life, divers have the ultimate underwater experience. One of the most important finds is the Royal Mary which was owned by King Charles II and sunk in 1675. There are diving schools in North Wales which offer a wide range of services including tuition and training, equipment hire and servicing, together with boat charter.

Action away from the water includes mountain climbing, cliff hanging, motor-racing, hiking, woodland rambling, quad biking, painting, walking and golf. With its impressive variety of landscapes and wildlife, North Wales has an extensive network of coastal and inland paths for walkers. Follow the selection of Coastal Paths throughout North Wales which are suitable for walkers of all abilities and in parts for cyclists and horse riders. You will cross farmland, coastal heath, dunes, salt-marsh, foreshore, cliffs and pockets of woodland.
