Lletty

Spectacular area ideal for walkers and families wanting a quiet break!

Lletty is a secluded traditional farmhouse situated within a forestry plantation in the Brecon Beacons National Park, South Wales. The house is at the end of a 2 1/2 mile long track. It has a substantial garden, a barn and a large meadow totalling over 4 acres. The house is in an elevated position facing South towards Capel Gwynfe and beyond to the Black Mountains.

A traditional farmhouse in a secluded forest location in South Wales. The property sleeps 6 comprising of an open plan kitchen/diner, lounge, hallway, utility, pantry and WC on the ground floor.
The first floor has 1 x double bedroom, 1 x twin room and a bathroom. The converted attic has 1 x double bed and an en suite shower and WC.
There is no TV reception at Lletty and mobile phone signals work best on the Orange network, however they are often erratic. There is a payphone available. Radio signals can be obtained.

Beaches: Pembrey Sands about 1 hour drive away, fantastic windswept ex MoD site with sand dunes and pine forests to the sea.
Mewslade Bay on the Gower about an hour and a half away, our favourite beach for body boarding, check the tide times first though, there’s no beach if the tides in.
Swimming in the Sawdde River at the bottom of the track. (Disappear through hedge opposite and turn left, you’ll come to a swimming pool with a ‘beach’. Not for the faint hearted.)
Hill walking – anywhere opposite. Go to the bottom of the track and turn right and either drive towards Brynamman or take a left at the 3 horseshoes and head for Llanddeusant for Lyn y Fan Fach and Fawr.
Mountain biking – just do it around the forestry tracks straight out the door, or head to the Usk reservoir and cycle around the track there. There is also an excellent purpose built trail in Abergorlech 4 miles east of Brechfa.
The Red Lion is good and the best place to eat in Llangadog.
In the summer there is a very good Italian ice cream van that parks in the car park by the old quarry works on the mountain opposite when the weather is good. Use binoculars if you have them to check.
There is a red kite feeding station by the Cross Inn on the way to the Usk reservoir. They are fed meat every day at the same time.
Antique shops in Llandeilo and Trecastle.
Lyn Brianne reservoir.
Garn Goch (Red Cairn) Iron age hillfort. Go up the hill behind the house to the top of the ridge and follow the footpaths down the other side to the fort. A good day out walk destination from the house. Take a picnic.
We hope you have a great time here at Lletty as we have done for since we bought the property in 1992. Over the years we have renovated and landscaped and are continuing to do so. We are working with Tom who maintains the grounds to create a wild flower meadow.

Restore your sprits with a break in this rural retreat!
