Hafod is situated just fifty yards from the sea within a small development on the edge of the village of Moelfre. It has stunning far reaching views out to sea. You are able to see Llandudno, Puffin Island and Red Wharf Bay. A two minute walk will take you to a pebble beach and the famous Anglesey Coastal Path for you to enjoy.

Moelfre has a shingle beach, a lifeboat station with museum, a lovely selection of quality restaurants and pubs, Ann’s Pantry is a popular family run café and restaurant serving quality local produce in a relaxed atmosphere, and their homemade cakes are delicious! Or if you are looking for somewhere that welcomes dogs too, then try Ty Dderw, a lovely country inn, great for a quiet drink and a good meal or Traeth Bychan Beach Shop and café, right on the beach and serving a Grand Slam breakfast, perfect after an early morning walk with the pooch!

In the village you will find a convenience store, the Wheel and Anchor fish and chip shop and other shops in this quaint fishing village. To the south of Moelfre is a sandy beach at Traeth Bychan and to the north is the glorious white sandy beach Traeth yr Ora (Beach of the Fortified Landing Place), once reputed to be the haunt of smugglers, both of which you can walk to via the Anglesey Coastal Path.

Ground Floor

Kitchen/ dining

The large kitchen contains attractive kitchen units and is well equipped with a double oven, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and toaster. There is a three-drawer freezer in the garage. There is a kitchen table, complete with four chairs.

Lounge

The main feature of the lounge is the wonderful view of the sea and the shoreline towards Llanddona. There are two leather settees (a two-seater and a three-seater) and a pair of wooden chairs. There is 32 inch TV with Freeview, a DVD player, a VHS video player and a radio. Books and games are to be found in the book case with DVDs in the cabinet under the TV. There is also a traditional ‘cast iron’ style electric stove. Gall double doors from the lounge through to the kitchen increase the level of light throughout the house.

Conservatory

The large conservatory with stunning sea views, is a great place for a family breakfast with a large wooden table and four comfortable chairs. The comfy cane two seater sofa with two cane armchairs are perfect for relaxing with the morning newspaper and a coffee, watching the children playing in the large garden while you enjoy the magnificent views!

Bedroom 1

There is a spacious ground floor double bedroom with bedside cabinets, fitted drawers and wardrobes. A large picture window gives extensive views of the sea.

Bedroom 2

This twin-bedded ground floor bedroom contains two single beds, wardrobes, a bedside cabinet, a chest of drawers and a 15inch TV with DVD player.

Ground floor bathroom

The ground floor bathroom contains a bath, with a shower over the bath, a toilet and a hand basin.

Hallway

A stylish spiral staircase leads to the upper floor where great sea views can be enjoyed. There is a shower cabinet (with privacy curtain) on the landing together with a toilet.

Bedroom 3

This spacious bedroom contains a double bed with bedside tables, a chest of drawers, a hand wash basin and two built-in wardrobes.

Bedroom 4

This bedroom contains twin beds, a pair of bedside cabinets, a chest of drawers, a pair of built-in wardrobes, a hand basin and a 27inch TV. There are views of the sea towards Puffin Island.

Entertainment

The lounge has a 32 inch LCD TV with built in Freesat, a DVD player, VHS player and a radio. A variety of DVDs are stored in the drawer under the TV and a selection of books and games is found on the book shelf. Bedroom 2 has a 15 inch TV with a DVD player. Bedroom 4 has a 27 inch TV with Freeview.

Outside

A door from the conservatory leads to the large rear garden which slopes gently to enhance the view of the sea. There is a small patio close to the house with a large stylish glass topped table and 6 comfortable chairs, on a warm summer’s evening, a perfect location for a family meal, enjoying the sunset and the beautiful sea views! The large garden has a small pond in the far corner which has been covered in a protective metal frame.

The surrounding area

If you can drag yourself away from the beautiful garden and stunning views there are loads of great beaches easily reached by the Coastal Path. Whether you want a great beach for crabbing and star fish hunting, one minutes’ walk from the house or the soft dunes and lovely wide golden sands of Lligwy beach, there’s lots to choose from around Moelfre.

East coast beaches

The East Coast of Anglesey offers a number of extensive golden beaches all along the A5025 such as Llanddona (quiet and remote), Red Wharf Bay (home to the famous Ship Inn), Benllech (more like a traditional British seaside resort).

Traeth Bychan, a pretty sandy beach – when the tides out, the small stone and concrete boat park make it a favourite with sailors and the jet-ski fraternity, Just 25 metres or so from the beach as you go up the lane is Traeth Bychan beach cafe which sells cold and hot drinks, ice creams and snacks, while next to this is a car park and toilets.

Traeth Lligwy a huge sandy beach, family and dog friendly, not too crowded even on a busy summer’s day, with toilets and a café on the South Car Park. A great beach for building sand castles, crabbing in rock pools, kite and wind surfing, dolphin and seal watching – take a picnic and stay all day!

West coast beaches

Newborough Forest (off the A4080) leads to Llanddwyn Island through a wonderful avenue of Corsican pines and fine golden sand to a mystical island steeped in ancient folklore. A beautiful, untouched clean beach, Newborough is a hidden gem of a beach! The beach and the forest is owned by the National Trust and they’ve recently built BBQ facilities, toilets and a new boardwalk that’s suitable for wheelchairs. Malltraeth has a fine estuary famous for its waterfowl and Aberffraw was once the seat of Welsh princes. Rhosneigr is a famous water sport resort with a mouth-watering array of cafes and bistros.

North coast beaches

At the north end of the A5025, Amlwch is a historic fishing village associated with the ‘Copper Kingdom’ of Parys Mountain whereas Cemaes Bay is an attractive beach resort, close to Cemlyn nature reserve and Church Bay (Porth Swtan) with its tall cliffs and the oldest cottage on Anglesey.

Snowdonia

Across the Menai Strait are the mountains of Snowdonia which offer great opportunities for climbers, walkers, fell runners, mountain-bikers and naturalists. Llanberis is at the heart of Snowdonia: it is from here that the Snowdon Mountain Railway takes passengers to the new visitor centre at the summit.

Hafod requires a £100 security deposit.

On behalf of the homeowner we reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage, caused by the accidental, deliberate, negligent or reckless act of the guest to the property or structure. This will be done by Pre-authorising a credit card. A Pre-authorisation is a temporary hold of a specific amount of the available balance on a credit card.
