The major structure of this Hotel was constructed in Victorian era; 1862. Further enhancements followed over the years and in the 1920's the restaurant was added and garden patio rooms were built in the 1960's.
Blaenau Ffestiniog slate was used to build The Hotel. The hotel retains many of the original character, in particular the slate and stone fireplaces in Gelert' Bar and Lorenzo's Coffee Lounge.
